Even though the podcasts I subscribe to fall into a variety of categories, many of them are technology related. Covering discussions and debates about computers, mobile devices and the like, more so manufactured by Apple, Google and Samsung. Below is a short list of many of my favorite technology podcasts and what I like about them.

Likely my favorite technology podcast, if not my favorite podcast overall is Accidental Tech Podcast https://atp.fm/ or ATP for short. The show is hosted by 3 developers; Marco, Casey and John, and they have released 353 episodes to date. Prior to ATP, they started a short podcast about cars called Neutral http://neutral.fm/ which lasted 13 episodes before it turned into ATP. Marco was one of the founders of Tumblr, has several iOS applications he has released, the current one which is Overcast. Casey was a.Net developer turned into a iOS developer. John is a Perl developer and has been using Macs since the OG Mac in 1984. He has also published a series of Mac OS X operating system reviews on Arstechnica https://arstechnica.com/author/john-siracusa/ . The variety of topics in this show are cover many things Apple and cars.

Another favorite of mine, technology or not, is Rocket https://www.relay.fm/rocket which is hosted by a great trio; Brianna, Christina and Simone. The ATP and Rocket podcasts are usually released on Thursday evenings or Friday mornings. This leads to a very enjoyable and entertaining Friday of podcast listening. Brianna is a mobile game developer and is now running for congress for the state of Massachusetts. Christina was a tech journalist that is now a Cloud Advocate at Microsoft. Simone is a journalist for Polygon. There is a lot of Apple talk on this podcast, but the trio also discusses video games, music, current news and on occasion politics.

Another podcast that somewhat started with a trio of journalists is TheVerge. Years and websites ago, the trio of Nilay, Paul and Joshua on TheVerge were the main podcast from Engadget, then This Is My Next which became TheVerge. Note: Joshua is no longer with TheVerge. I have always enjoyed this trio, and over the years they have had many guests or cohosts. The main trio on this show is now usually ends up being Nilay, Paul and Dieter.

Another trio I enjoy listening to are 2 of the founders of Relay FM, Myke and Stephen, and their good friend Federico. Their current show is Connected https://www.relay.fm/connected , but prior to this show they had another which is now retired The Prompt https://www.relay.fm/prompt . A large majority of the discussions and debate relate to Apple technology. They also all live in different countries UK, USA and Italy, so the point of views vary which can add value to the viewpoints they have.

One of the classic technology podcasters over the years has been Leo Laporte who founded TWiT https://twit.tv/ . The studio host a large number of shows in video and audio formats. One of my favorites from this studio is the TWiT, which is a panel discussion hosted by Leo with a large variety of people in tech, sometimes well known people in the industry. There has been 744 episodes of this show released weekly, and simple math puts this show at over 14 years of weekly episodes. This puts this show starting before the iPhone and many other things that are popular in tech, and likely were popular and died off.

One sub category of technology podcasts I listen to is anything related to Android news. This includes a long lists including; All About Android https://twit.tv/shows/all-about-android , Android Central Podcast https://www.androidcentral.com/podcast , Material https://www.relay.fm/material , Mobile Tech Podcast https://worldpodcasts.com/mobiletechpodcast/ , Alphabet Scoop https://9to5google.com/guides/alphabet-scoop/ , Android Authority https://www.androidauthority.com/podcast/ , Android Police https://www.androidpolice.com/tags/android-police-podcast/ , Droid Life Show https://www.droid-life.com/show/ and Pocketnow Weekly https://pocketnow.com/tag/pocketnowweekly .

There are 2 newer shows I have started to listen to that were started by very popular YouTube technology personalities. The first is Lew Later https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/lew-later/id1461771992 started by Lew from Unbox Therapy. This podcast is also released under its own YouTube channel and is pretty much the technology news happening that week. The second is Waveform https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/waveform-the-mkbhd-podcast/id1474429475 by MKBHD from YouTube. Another viewpoint of the weekly tech news.

Hope you check a few of these out and enjoy. I am sure I will find more in the future.
